After a tough loss against rival, White Plains Saturday night, the team was back on the ice Sunday morning to play Sleepy Hollow/Irvington.  The Crusaders beat the Legends program 4-1 and closed out the annual White Plains tournament with a great win.  Senior defenseman Anthony Careccia was named player of the game after scoring the second goal and playing a smart defensive game.

Sophomore Frank Haklits recorded his second goal of the tournament midway through the first period to give Stepinac the lead.  Careccia tacked on the second goal just one minute later.  Senior goaltender Anthony Mensi saved 24 shots on the day.  Junior Wyatt Zuk and freshman Luke Damiano netted two more for Stepinac.  Juniors John Albergo and Charlie Flemen, sophomores Rob Sanders and Steve Michell and senior goalie Anthony Mensi all contributed with assists.

It was a great team effort to secure the win.  Stepinac moved the puck very well offensively and did an excellent job back checking and protecting the goaltender.   The program will need to continue building on the strengths shown today as Stepinac looks to start league competion this week.
